Yes there are fish being caught, but still pretty sluggish for the most part.

Thanks Aroc
I know the rain yesterday and cold night temps are not the best conditions but can't waste a sunny calm day sitting in front of the TV

Seems early to me, compared to prior years. Is my memory failing me, or is weather bringing them in early?

The weather is a key factor if they bite or not, they move into pre spawn areas right at ice out and wait patiently for the water temp to get to magical 56 DEG F to spawn but in the meantime they need to eat so I have found that when the water temp reaches in the high 40's the bite will turn on. If the water temp cools down so does the bite

X2... Water temp is a big factor.... plus weather consistency. Last time I was out on the bay the temp was 43 but that was a week ago. With the warm temps the next couple of days and the warm rains we just had, it should heat up a few degrees.
