1938 report

Post by H.J. Dean » Thu Apr 05, 2012 2:46 am

Hi, Eau Buoy
The 1938 history is terrific in detail, thank you for posting it.
Many questions were answered for me, i e: the existence of
the three hotels by name being one example.
The preservation of history is well done in that 1938 report
on that local region, It was in the late 1940s that I served as
a crew member on the Alexander Leslie. Now far away in
southern California since 1961 my interest in your Eau Buoy
site and all history of Erieau continue pleasantly with me.
Thanking you again.

Mr Dean, does the nickname "Dunga-Dean" ring a bell to you? One the old-timers recalls your acquaintance (Gerrit Apfeld).

Hi, E B
Pretty close on the name{s}, I recall hearing the comparisons of
Gunga Dean, also Dillinger Dean when about 10 or 12 years in
age. Sadly the name Gerrit Apfeld escapes me...would he post
his picture of those now long ago days? There is no doubt that
I will recognize him.

This link has the only pics I have of Gerrit in his younger days.
