SQUAW CAMP

Post by H.J. Dean » Wed Jun 08, 2011 5:50 pm

Hi
What are the chances someone might have pictures of Old Squaw Camp, also any
history of it's origin mainly from the 1930s 1940 eras?

SQUAW CAMP

Where the old wagon trail ended
Down at the edge of Lake Erie's Eau
There was a place in time suspended
And over the water on it's wood walks we'd go.

Passing it's small buildings and boats at the ramp
For the biggest and best fishin' ever
In joyous youthful days at ol' Squaw Camp
That neither time or space can sever

But I reckon gone now an' forgot
By most 'cept us favored sons
Venturing from home to that hallowed spot
To find prosperous peace at ol' Squaw Camp.

Johny_5, Thanks for the Squaw Camp update info. Sad that it is neglected. It may have been the oldest
fishing camp in entire area?. Likely begun in early 1800s or ?.

Again my thanks. H.Dean
