WEATHER

With the coming of the strangers
To the burning sun of summer
We must warn then of these dangers
Of the cold and snows of winter
On our Mojave Desert ranges

Of the flash floods on the prairie
And the fierce winds from the mountains
That sweep the foothills and the mesas
Of the Varmit's plague, and Green snake
How the blowing sands affect us

Of the smog that now invades
This High country of the plains
Of culture shock, of employment isolation,
And the frontier mentality
Of the shaking giant just beneath us

The San Andreas, in awesome restive sleep
Of that threat to all survival
And to these coming strangers
Tell of exploitation by a 'Realty Revival'
In our towns and on our open ranges!
